🎞️ Render single clips as chapters in resulting movie #93

Open

Description

@alexanderadam

For navigation it would be cool to render single clips as chapters in the merged movie.

For new clips it would be nice to store even things like place from geotag and subtitle.

FFmpeg already supports this:

Adding chapters is done by editing the metadata file like FFMETADATAFILE.txt and adding sections like this:

[CHAPTER]
TIMEBASE=1/1000
START=1
END=448000
title=August 27th, 2023 - Berlin, eating bananas with friends

[CHAPTER]
TIMEBASE=1/1000
START=448001
END= 3883999
title=August 28th, 2023 - São Paulo, party with Caio

Afterwards it will be applied like this ffmpeg -i INPUT.mp4 -i FFMETADATAFILE.txt -map_metadata 1 -codec copy OUTPUT.mp4.

See also the documentation of FFmpeg.
