Summary

Adds support for using the GitHub Copilot App (the Copilot CLI/agentic session-management tool) as an additional way to interact with the Backlog product, alongside the existing VS Code and Visual Studio IDE integrations. GitHub Copilot App sessions run one agent per local git worktree, so it fits the same "IDE-class host" role the domain and architecture already recognize for editor extensions.

Changes

  • Domain (.domain/capture/*): the existing ide Capture Source now explicitly covers GitHub Copilot App sessions as a peer of VS Code/Visual Studio. Added a local-only session adapter that carries session_id + local worktree path instead of an editor selection, with no new credential surface (credentials never leave the machine). Second Brain, Backlog Management, Technology Stack, and Inbox domains were left unchanged since their browsing capabilities are already channel-agnostic.
  • Architecture (.arc42/03, 05, 06, 08): updated the Access Channels table, the building-block view (Copilot App is a peer local-first client process, not a new container), added a new "Copilot App Session Capture" runtime scenario, and extended the local-first credential-handling crosscutting concept to include Copilot App sessions. A short note distinguishes this new capture-channel concern from Dev PC Management's separate "Copilot Session Tracking" monitoring concern.
  • No new ADR: this is judged to be a channel extension within existing architectural constraints (local-first, no new container, no new credential surface), not a new architectural decision.

Testing

Documentation-only change (domain and arc42 knowledge folders); no automated tests apply. Verified via the correct specialist agents (domain-design:domain-architect for .domain/**, architecture:architect for .arc42/**) and confirmed cross-referenced anchors exist in the updated files.

Checklist

  • Scope is focused and excludes unrelated changes
  • Documentation or instruction files were updated when governance or behavior changed
  • Follow-up work is captured when the implementation is intentionally partial

Domain (domain-design:domain-architect): extend Capture bounded context
so the existing ide Capture Source treats GitHub Copilot App sessions as
a peer host alongside VS Code and Visual Studio, adding a local-only
session adapter (session_id + worktree path, no new credential surface).

Architecture (architecture:architect): reflect the same in arc42 -
Access Channels table, building-block view (peer host, no new
container), a new Copilot App Session Capture runtime scenario, and
crosscutting local-first credential handling. No new ADR needed since
this is a channel extension within existing constraints.
