[Due for payment 2026-06-29] Coding standards index drifts from the rules directory and is missing rules #94020

Closed

Description

@kacper-mikolajczak

Problem

The coding-standards skill keeps an index in .claude/skills/coding-standards/SKILL.md - a categories table plus a quick-reference list of every rule. The index is maintained by hand, separately from the rule files in .claude/skills/coding-standards/rules/, so the two drift apart. Several rules added to the directory were never added to the index, including an entire UI category that had no entry at all (not even the pre-existing UI-1), along with CONSISTENCY-7..11 and CLEAN-REACT-6..9. As a result the index no longer reflects the actual rule set.

Solution

Update the index so it lists every rule file in the directory: add a UI category and the missing quick-reference entries, and verify every rule file is referenced and every link resolves.

To prevent future drift, consider a follow-up that validates index/rules consistency automatically (e.g. a check that fails if a file in rules/ is not referenced in SKILL.md, or generating the quick reference from the rule frontmatter).

    Looks like the merge was successful, shall we close it @rlinoz?
