Action Performed:

1. Go to staging.new.expensify.com
2. Log in with an Expensify account
3. Create a new workspace in Overview
4. Click Connect to Car (Connect to Uber)

Expected Result:

The blue Connect button should be visible, allowing the user to complete the Uber connection

Actual Result:

On Android (tested on Android 12 with Chrome), the Connect button is not displayed

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

Connect button isn't visible after opening the integration link.

What is the root cause of that problem?

When calling the OpenPolicyReceiptPartnersPage API for the first time, there's a small delay where the data we pass to Uber so it shows the connect button isn't available (integrations?.uber?.connectFormData), thus, if the user is on a slow network or simply goes through the screens too fast, we'll end up redirecting them to the regular Uber page without the connect button.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

1. Prevent the user from clicking the button while the data isn't available yet:

(I think it's best to show a loading spinner in the button, but we might need to ask the design team.)

N/A (Blocking GET request from server).

What alternative solutions did you explore? (Optional)

• We could also disable the button, show a loading spinner on the entire page, filter the menu item until it loads, etc.

PS: I can repro this in every platform but this is a timing issue so if you can't repro make sure you're going through the screens fast enough and/or the connection is slow.
