Action Performed:

1. Open the app
2. Log in with a new Gmail account
3. Open a chat with an existing account
4. Send any text message to the chat
5. Right click on the message
6. Click on "Copy link"
7. Paste the link to the composer
8. Change the last number in the link to a different number
9. Send the link to the chat
10. Click on the link
11. Click on the "For any questions please contact concierge@expensify.com" hyperlink on the "Hmm... it's not here" page

Expected Result:

I should be navigated to Concierge.

Actual Result:

I'm navigated to the 1:1 chat after clicking on the "contact concierge" link.

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

• When clicking the "contact concierge" link in a specific error state, the user is redirected to the 1:1 chat with Concierge. This behavior is misleading given the actual context of the error.

What is the root cause of that problem?

• We show a "Not Here" fallback page in two situations:

  1. When attempting to open a report that doesn't exist.

     

  2. When navigating to a specific report action (e.g., a comment) that doesn't exist within an otherwise valid report.

     

• The current issue falls under the second scenario. When the app fails to find a specific report action, clicking on blue text redirects back to the report as expected. However, the error message presented is misleading. It states:

This chat or expense may have been deleted or you do not have access to it.
For any questions please contact concierge@expensify.com

• This message is too generic and implies that the entire report is missing or inaccessible, rather than clarifying that a specific comment or action within the report could not be found.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

• Update the message shown when a specific report action ID cannot be found. A clearer message would be:

    commentYouLookingForCannotBeFound: 'The comment you are looking for cannot be found. Go back to the chat',

then update this:
