[Due for payment 2025-03-17] [$250] Web - LHN - Mark as unread a message after deleting self mention displays green dot in LHN #57205
Version Number: 9.1.2-1 Reproducible in staging?: Y Reproducible in production?: Y If this was caught on HybridApp, is this reproducible on New Expensify Standalone?: N/A If this was caught during regression testing, add the test name, ID and link from TestRail: N/A Issue reported by: Applause - Internal Team
However, if we perform the step twice, the lastMentionedTime isn't empty. That's because, we only exclude the mention action that we delete, but not the mention action that is already deleted before.
What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?
We need to check for whether the action is already deleted or not too.

Proposal
Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.
Marking report as unread after deleting a mention still shows a green dot. This issue can only happen if we perform the step at least twice.
What is the root cause of that problem?
The green dot will show if the report is unread while there is a mention to the current user.
App/src/libs/ReportUtils.ts
Line 3088 in 14c5b21
When we delete the mention, the lastMentionedTime is supposed to be empty.
App/src/libs/actions/Report.ts
Lines 1631 to 1638 in 14c5b21
However, if we perform the step twice, the lastMentionedTime isn't empty. That's because, we only exclude the mention action that we delete, but not the mention action that is already deleted before.
What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?
We need to check for whether the action is already deleted or not too.
What specific scenarios should we cover in automated tests to prevent reintroducing this issue in the future?
We can test adding 2 mention, deleting both of them, and assert that lastMentionedTime is empty.
