[Due for payment 2025-02-28] [$250] New HelpDot Homepage Category - Connect Credit Cards #55325
We're adding a new category to the New Expensify section of the help site, mirroring the Connect Credit Cards section of the Expensify Classic help site that exists now.
Title, subheader and icon should be the same as the existing classic Connect Credit Cards section.
Clicking into Connect Credit Cards should show the same title: Connect Credit Cards and subheader Track credit card transactions and reconcile company cards. as is shown here.
Below that, we only need one section for right now: Company Cards. We can omit the Personal Cards section for now, as that feature has not yet been scoped.
Clicking into the Company Cards sub-section can be blank for now. I have three planned articles I will post as soon as this category is up and running.
That should be it! LMK if anything else is needed to get this up.
The task requires adding a new category to the "New Expensify" section of the help site, which mirrors the existing "Connect Credit Cards" section from the Expensify Classic help site. The new category will contain a sub-section for "Company Cards" and will exclude the "Personal Cards" section for now.
Technical Solution:
Category Creation:
Use the existing structure for help categories and create a new category titled "Connect Credit Cards" in the "New Expensify" section.
For the category, the title should be "Connect Credit Cards" and the subheader should be: "Track credit card transactions and reconcile company cards."
The icon for the new category should be consistent with the existing "Connect Credit Cards" section, ensuring visual uniformity across the help site.
Sub-section for "Company Cards":
Within the "Connect Credit Cards" category, create a sub-section called "Company Cards".
The "Company Cards" section should initially contain only a placeholder indicating that additional content will be added in the future. This section should not contain any personal card details at this time.
Exclusion of "Personal Cards" Section:
Since the "Personal Cards" feature is not yet scoped, I will omit the "Personal Cards" section entirely in this implementation.
Design and Layout Consistency:
Ensure the new category and sub-section are consistent with the existing "Connect Credit Cards" section by using the same design patterns, such as title, subheader, icon, and layout.
If Figma designs or component libraries are used across the platform, I'll ensure that the new category and sub-section are built using those existing components to maintain UI consistency.
Technical Implementation Steps:
Backend: Modify the content management system (CMS) or the relevant database schema to add a new category and sub-section for "Connect Credit Cards." I’ll ensure proper linking between the new section and any other parts of the help site.
Frontend: Implement the UI changes by adding the new category, sub-section, and placeholders. I’ll use existing front-end code and styles to ensure that the new category aligns with the rest of the help site. This may involve editing JSX or HTML templates and ensuring the title and subheader are dynamically populated.
Linking: Add the necessary links to connect the new section to the rest of the help site. This will involve ensuring that the "Connect Credit Cards" section and its sub-sections are navigable and properly displayed.
Testing & Validation:
I will perform thorough testing to ensure that the new category and sub-sections are displayed correctly on all platforms (desktop and mobile).
Ensure that there are no broken links, and that the placeholder text is correctly rendered in the "Company Cards" section.
Verify that the layout is responsive and that the design is pixel-perfect, following Expensify's UI/UX guidelines.
