Device used: MacBook Air Sonoma 14.1 Chrome, iPhone 15 iOS 18.1.1
App Component: Chat Report View

Action Performed:

  1. Navigate to staging.new.expensify.com and sign in as a gmail user
  2. Open the conversation with the secondary user. Clear any unread messages if needed
  3. Keep the conversation in view of the most recent message
  4. As the secondary user - Send some messages to the main user

Expected Result:

The unread marker is not displayed in the conversation history over the new messages, while the user keeps the latest messages of the conversation in a view

Actual Result:

New message marker is displayed over the new messages while user is viewing the latest messages of the conversation
