Bugzilla CC: rfisher,

Test specific:
hobart using compiler/gnu/5.4.0 and mpi/gcc/openmpi-2.0.2-static
test - ERS_Pm.f09_g17.B1850.hobart_gnu.allactive-defaultio
cesm2_0_alpha06n with CLM tag
https://svn-ccsm-models.cgd.ucar.edu/clm2/trunk_tags/clm4_5_16_r242/components/clm

gives the following cesm.log error in CNBalanceCheckMod.F90 at line 217:

The same test, same tag works fine with compiler/intel/15.0.2.164 andmpi/intel/mvapich2-2.1-qlc. Was also able to successfully run a PFS test and
a regular B1850, f09_g17 9 month case for both compilers and libraries.

So, I think there's either a problem with the test or the compiler / mpilib
configuration for this test.
