Closes #245

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added token balance and allowance tracking, with approval and allowance-reset transactions on Optimism.
    • Dashboard claims, activity, and verification-node views can display supplied data, with loading and empty states.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Wallet details now reflect the connected wallet rather than a generated address.
    • Unknown trust scores and account ages no longer trigger warnings; unavailable reputation displays as an em dash.
    • Production verification no longer uses mock results when Worldcoin is unconfigured.
    • Fixed a Storybook asset path to support Linux CI builds.
  • Documentation
    • Added setup guidance for wallet connectivity and optional network and verification settings.

… validation guards

Implement ERC-20 token balance, decimals, allowance, and spender reads from the
canonical TruthBountyWeighted contract on Optimism/EVM. Add exact-approval support
with reset-to-zero, confirmation tracking, and validation guards that reject
insufficient balance, wrong asset, wrong spender, and unsafe unlimited approval.
Update checksums for modified ABI.

done

Resolve conflicts against the PR's base branch (DigiNodes main) by keeping
the token-approval/balance implementation and reconciling overlapping web3,
wallet, and claim-submission changes with upstream's main-line code. Restore
useAccount/useWallet to coherent versions (upstream main carried corrupted
auto-merged copies), and fix the resulting type, lint, and test failures so
lint, type-check, unit tests, artifact verification, and the Next.js build
all pass.

Maintainer stabilization triage

No merge or closure action is being taken now. This PR is on hold until the next Stellar Wave starts and the relevant baseline is green.

Provisional disposition: Hold for overlap review.

Next review: Compare with the current allowance issues and approved transaction journey before any rebase. Do not duplicate or invent allowance authority.

The provisional cross-repository disposition is recorded in truthbounty-protocol PR #7. Existing issues remain open. Please do not rework or rebase this PR unless a maintainer explicitly activates and assigns the work.

Walkthrough

The pull request adds ERC-20 balance and approval flows, connects dashboard views to supplied data, and updates wallet and transaction handling. It also changes runtime configuration, removes legacy modules, and adds supporting tests, stories, and documentation.

Changes

ERC-20 balance and approval

Layer / File(s) Summary
ERC-20 contract reads
release/abi/TruthBountyWeighted.json, release/checksums.json, src/lib/contracts/registry.ts, src/app/lib/wallet.ts
The ABI and registry add ERC-20 reads and approval. Wallet helpers read token balance, decimals, and allowance from the canonical contract.
Token balance state
src/hooks/useTokenBalance.ts, src/hooks/__tests__/useTokenBalance.test.ts
The hook reads and formats token data on the configured network. Tests cover successful, disconnected, failed, and refreshed reads.
Allowance and approval flow
src/hooks/useTokenApproval.ts, src/hooks/__tests__/useTokenApproval.test.ts, src/__tests__/integration/token-approval-flow.test.tsx, src/__tests__/regression/token-mock-removal.test.ts, src/hooks/useRewards.ts, PR_TOKEN_APPROVAL.md, src/app/(dashboard)/how-it-works/page.tsx
The approval hook validates network, amount, and balance before submission, and supports resetting allowance to zero. Tests and documentation cover approval behavior and token data boundaries.

Data-backed dashboard views

Layer / File(s) Summary
Claims data and table states
src/app/(dashboard)/page.tsx, src/components/features/ActiveClaimsTable.tsx, src/components/features/ActiveClaimsTable.stories.tsx, src/__tests__/components/active-claims-search-clear.test.tsx
The dashboard maps claims into table rows. The table accepts supplied claims and distinguishes an empty dataset from a search with no matches.
Activity and verification-node data
src/components/features/ActivityAndNodes.tsx, src/components/features/ActivityAndNodes.stories.tsx, src/components/features/VerificationNodes.tsx, src/components/features/VerificationNodes.stories.tsx
The components render supplied activity and node data, with loading and empty states.
Trust and reputation display
src/components/features/StatsCards.tsx, src/components/features/__tests__/StatsCards.test.tsx, src/components/ui/TrustIndicator.tsx, src/components/ui/TrustWarningBanner.tsx, README.md
Trust displays use an em dash for unknown reputation. Warning checks require known values or an explicitly true suspicious-activity value.

Wallet and transaction lifecycle

Layer / File(s) Summary
Wallet connection state and controls
src/hooks/useAccount.ts, src/hooks/useWallet.ts, src/app/(dashboard)/identity/page.tsx, src/components/WalletConnection.tsx, src/components/ui/ConnectButton.tsx, src/components/features/claim-submission/ClaimSubmissionForm.tsx, src/hooks/tests/useWallet.test.tsx, src/__tests__/design-system/header-typography.test.tsx
Wallet pages and hooks use Wagmi account and connection state. The wallet hook tracks user-initiated attempts and returns an effective chain ID.
Transaction submission and state
src/hooks/useTransaction.ts, src/app/types/transaction.ts, src/lib/transaction-state.ts, src/lib/pending-transactions.ts, src/__tests__/explorer.test.ts
Transaction handling changes chain checks, contract submission, confirmation processing, pending-entry defaults, receipt validation, and state labels.
Legacy paths and mock-data regression checks
src/CorrectRewardClaim, src/evidence, src/lib/transaction-simulator.ts, src/__tests__/mocks/wagmi/mock-wagmi.ts, src/__tests__/regression/mock-removal.test.ts, src/__tests__/regression/token-mock-removal.test.ts
The legacy reward contract, evidence module, and simulator stub are removed. Regression tests check mock-data boundaries, token data, and configuration behavior.

Runtime configuration and verification

Layer / File(s) Summary
Runtime configuration and environment
src/config/walletconnect.ts, src/config/worldcoin-client.ts, README.md, jest.setup.js, .storybook/main.ts, src/config/protocol/__tests__/verification-artifact.test.ts, src/__tests__/utils/jest-axe.d.ts
WalletConnect and Worldcoin runtime behavior changes, with corresponding environment documentation and test configuration. Storybook’s public directory path uses POSIX separators.
Verification and reputation data
src/app/lib/verification-reconcile.ts, src/lib/verification/encoding.ts, src/lib/__tests__/reputation-root.test.ts
Verification parsing converts verdicts for named and positional records. Projection reconciliation adds a decision fallback, and reputation tests cover tier thresholds and next-tier results.
Component examples and test support
src/components/button/Button.docs.tsx, src/__tests__/explorer.test.ts, src/__tests__/design-system/header-typography.test.tsx
Button documentation adds usage and preview examples. Explorer and header tests update URL cases and Wagmi test mocks.

Merge Risk: 🔴 Critical · up to 9d10f

This change does not build: large parts of the dashboard, wallet, transaction and rewards code still contain unresolved merge leftovers, and the canonical token ABI is silently corrupted. Even after it compiles, the new approval flow can show success before the user signs, can lose track of a retried approval, and transaction confirmation can report the wrong chain or a false timeout. The PR is also on maintainer hold. It is not ready to merge.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 9d10f

A new approval flow has a verified network-binding weakness, and repeated transactions can make confirmation status ambiguous. Wallet consent and release-network checks limit the exposure. Verification reporting also changes when projection data is incomplete, but a downstream authorization bypass was not established.

Retained concerns

  • Low · security · inferred: Approval and reset writes do not bind the release chain that the hook validated before submission; a wallet-chain transition during the asynchronous flow can invalidate that check.
  • Low · reliability · inferred: Confirmation state is keyed only to the current hash, without an account, chain, spender, or submission identity. A repeated approval can inherit an earlier pending receipt and report success for the wrong operation.
  • Low · security · inferred: An incomplete verification projection with no visible on-chain position can now be classified as degraded with isMismatch false rather than reaching the stale, isMismatch true branch. Whether this weakens a downstream control is unproven.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The immediate authorization scope is the connected wallet's approval for the registry-selected token on the release chain. An application caller can select another spender through the hook option, but a signed wallet transaction is still required; no production use of that override was established.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — The retained finding concerns approval writes without an explicit chainId: a network transition after the release-chain check can separate the chain used for validation from the chain used for signing. The evidence does not demonstrate silent signing or arbitrary-chain execution.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Connection, the supported-chain allowlist, and equality with the release chain gate approval. The default spender is registry-controlled and unlimited approval is rejected unless a caller opts in; neither control binds a write to an unchanged wallet context after an asynchronous read.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Repeated submissions and wallet-context changes can leave receipt status detached from the authorization being displayed. An incomplete verification projection also changes the mismatch signal, although a downstream decision based on that signal was not demonstrated.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind approval and reset writes to the validated chain and account, and revalidate wallet context after asynchronous reads before submitting a write.
  • proposed — Track each approval by account, chain, spender, amount, and hash through confirmation or failure; explicitly define whether an incomplete projection without on-chain evidence should retain a mismatch signal.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The PR contains broad changes beyond token approval, including deletion of Soroban and evidence modules, dashboard and identity changes, multiple Storybook additions, transaction-state changes, and unrelated test migrations. The maintainer also requested an overlap review before further work.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

The PR adds the ERC-20 ABI, canonical TruthBountyWeighted reads, useTokenBalance, useTokenApproval, exact approval, reset-to-zero, balance and network checks, confirmation state, and applicable approval tests for successful, rejected, and reverted transactions [#245]. The implementation still returns 18 when the canonical decimals() read fails in src/lib/contracts/registry.ts and src/app/lib/wallet.ts. This can create non-authoritative token data. The reviewed changes do not establish rejection and test coverage for wrong asset, wrong spender, stale transactions, exact-integer and address validation, or artifact-version mismatch. The summary also shows that useTransaction.ts adds a duplicate waitForConfirmation declaration and removes numeric unsupported-chain rejection during retry. These gaps conflict with the canonical-authority, validation, stale-path, and confirmation requirements [#245].

Resolution

Remove decimal fallbacks and surface canonical read failures. Validate and test the asset, spender, chain, address, artifact version, and exact integer amount. Add stale-transaction coverage. Remove the duplicate confirmation implementation and restore unsupported-chain validation for retry and confirmation paths. Provide evidence for every #245 acceptance criterion and command result.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The PR contains changes without a demonstrated connection to the ERC-20 approval flow [#245]. Examples include deletion of the complete src/evidence module, dashboard and identity behavior changes, trust and reputation changes, explorer changes, Storybook additions, wallet and claim-submission changes, verification changes, and duplicate ConnectButton declarations. These changes exceed the issue scope. They also introduce visual and application behavior changes that the issue excludes.

Resolution

Remove or split unrelated evidence, dashboard, identity, trust, explorer, verification, Storybook, wallet, claim-submission, and UI changes into separately approved work. Keep this pull request limited to the token approval implementation, required transaction integration, supporting regression tests, configuration, generated artifacts, and documentation.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 60.98% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 41 functions across 47 files. (4 skipped: 4 unsupported.)

In `@jest.setup.js`:
- Line 156: Update the WalletConnect project ID setup and the mock-removal
regression test so the assertion is independent of the ambient environment:
either use the configured `NEXT_PUBLIC_WALLETCONNECT_PROJECT_ID` value in the
assertion or install the deterministic test fixture for that test.

In `@PR_TOKEN_APPROVAL.md`:
- Around line 15-29: Remove the committed PR description from the repository, or
revise its unsupported claims to match the implementation. Update
PR_TOKEN_APPROVAL.md to retain only verified statements about useTokenApproval,
wallet.ts, UI changes, file counts, and commands; move PR-description content to
the PR description and accurately compare the implemented flow with the approved
transaction journey.

In `@README.md`:
- Around line 48-51: Update the README trust-signal statement to qualify that
signals are authoritative in normal operation while `localStorage.trustInfo`
simulation is available as documented for testing; remove the absolute claim
that conflicts with that behavior.

In `@release/abi/TruthBountyWeighted.json`:
- Around line 9-42: Update the TruthBountyWeighted ABI binding so ERC-20 reads
and approvals use an interface actually exposed by the deployed token, either by
replacing the ABI with one generated from the deployed contract or binding the
token hooks to the actual token address and ABI. Keep the claim flow’s explicit
token and spender configuration separate from the TruthBountyWeighted contract
ABI.

In `@src/__tests__/regression/mock-removal.test.ts`:
- Around line 90-91: Replace the whole-file string assertions in the regression
test with a behavioral test of getTokenBalance: mock the contract read, then
assert the returned balance and that the read uses the TruthBountyWeighted token
address.
- Around line 305-306: Update the fixture-path check in the test to detect
__tests__/fixtures/mock-data without requiring the `@/` prefix, so it rejects both
alias and relative imports; leave the existing mock-data check unchanged.

In `@src/__tests__/regression/token-mock-removal.test.ts`:
- Around line 193-215: Strengthen the `useTokenApproval` test to render the hook
and verify it rejects an invalid `overrideSpender`, rather than only checking
for `getContractAddress` in the source. In the how-it-works test, assert
`tokenFaqMatch` is not null before checking the matched FAQ answer.

In `@src/__tests__/utils/jest-axe.d.ts`:
- Line 13: Remove the ambient `jest-axe` module declaration and local
`jest.Matchers` augmentation from this file; rely on the installed
`@types/jest-axe` declarations for the exports and Jest matcher types.

In `@src/app/`(dashboard)/identity/page.tsx:
- Line 19: Reset isVerified when walletAddress changes, including Wagmi-driven
disconnects and account switches that bypass handleDisconnectWallet. Add an
effect in the page that clears verification state whenever walletAddress
changes.

In `@src/app/`(dashboard)/page.tsx:
- Line 31: Update the claim data and filter configuration used by
ActiveClaimsTable so the “High Impact” filter is not offered while every mapped
claim has impact set to “—”; remove or disable that filter until authoritative
impact values are available.
- Around line 38-40: Update the claim mapping used by ActiveClaimsTable so its
“Time Left” value is derived from expiresAt when available, rather than
formatted createdAt; display “—” when expiresAt is unavailable.
- Line 46: Handle the `useClaims()` error state separately from an empty result
in the dashboard page: show an accessible failure message when the claims query
fails, and reserve “No claims available yet” for a successful query with no
claims.
- Line 30: Update the row mapping in the dashboard page to use the available
Claim.category value, falling back to “—” only when it is nullish, so displayed
categories and category searches reflect the claim data.

In `@src/app/lib/verification-reconcile.ts`:
- Line 269: Remove the duplicate decision property from the object in the
verification reconciliation flow; keep a single decision fallback expression so
the object passes TypeScript type checking.

In `@src/app/lib/wallet.ts`:
- Around line 19-22: Update the `publicClient` chain selection in `wallet.ts` to
use `getReleaseChainId()` so reads target the same network as the release
manifest and contract addresses. Select the matching supported Optimism chain
for the release ID, preserving the existing Sepolia behavior when the ID does
not indicate Optimism mainnet.

In `@src/components/button/Button.docs.tsx`:
- Line 11: Close the unfinished usage example template literal in the Button
documentation component and close its pre element before the Props heading.
Ensure the example’s JSX markup is contained within the template literal so the
component compiles.

In `@src/components/features/__tests__/StatsCards.test.tsx`:
- Line 52: Reset the shared `mockUseTrust` implementation before each test in
the `StatsCards Component` suite so tests start with the default reputation
value of 95. Keep the test-specific null reputation setup isolated to the test
that needs it; `jest.clearAllMocks()` does not restore mock implementations.

In `@src/components/features/ActiveClaimsTable.tsx`:
- Line 10: In src/components/features/ActiveClaimsTable.tsx lines 10 and 140,
add the claim’s unique source ID to ActiveClaimRow and use it as the rendered
row’s React key instead of the index. In
src/components/features/VerificationNodes.tsx lines 43-44, carry each node’s
stable source ID through the component data and use it as the React key instead
of idx.

In `@src/components/WalletConnection.tsx`:
- Around line 21-27: Update handleCopyAddress to check clipboard availability
and await writeText, announcing success only after the write resolves. Handle
unavailable or rejected clipboard writes without an unhandled rejection and show
an accessible failure status; retain the status-clear timeout.

In `@src/hooks/__tests__/useTokenApproval.test.ts`:
- Around line 236-253: In useTokenApproval.test.ts (lines 236–253), rename the
rejected-write case as a submission-error test; add coverage for receipt isError
producing error status and receipt isSuccess producing success status with an
allowance re-read, remove the impossible 2n ** 256n balance case, and add a
spender-mismatch case. In token-approval-flow.test.tsx (lines 108–136), make the
receipt mock succeed after submission and assert success status and refreshed
allowance, or rename the test.

In `@src/hooks/__tests__/useTokenBalance.test.ts`:
- Around line 27-29: The `formatUnits` mocks hard-code 18 decimals and convert
through `Number`, so they cannot catch decimal-formatting errors and may lose
precision. In `src/hooks/__tests__/useTokenBalance.test.ts` lines 27–29, remove
the mock and add a 6-decimals case and a wrong-network case; in
`src/hooks/__tests__/useTokenApproval.test.ts` lines 19–21, remove the mock and
assert the formatted allowance for a non-18-decimals value; in
`src/__tests__/integration/token-approval-flow.test.tsx` lines 21–23, remove the
mock and use the real `viem` `formatUnits`.

In `@src/hooks/useAccount.ts`:
- Line 41: Resolve the merge-conflict duplicates and syntax errors while
retaining the complete intended implementations: in src/hooks/useAccount.ts
(41-41), keep one account destructure, dependency array, useDisconnect export,
and align AccountInfo with the returned object; in src/hooks/useWallet.ts
(89-89), remove duplicated declarations, callbacks, and dependency array; in
src/components/ui/ConnectButton.tsx (1-10), retain the existing client component
with its button type and onClick override; in
src/components/features/claim-submission/ClaimSubmissionForm.tsx (164-166),
remove the duplicate lines and separate useConnect import; in
src/hooks/tests/useWallet.test.tsx (8-16), choose one connector-mocking strategy
and make the affected test bodies async, ensuring manual mockConnect invokes
onSuccess if that strategy remains; in src/hooks/useTransaction.ts (198-198),
restore the missing closing brace and retain one waitForConfirmation; in
src/lib/transaction-state.ts (365-372), remove inserted duplicate blocks and
close the incomplete conditional, retaining the complete original blocks; in
src/__tests__/explorer.test.ts (2-15), remove the inserted duplicate test code
and retain the existing suite.

In `@src/hooks/useTokenApproval.ts`:
- Around line 136-153: Update the transaction receipt handling in the
`useTokenApproval` hook to pass `releaseChainId` to
`useWaitForTransactionReceipt` and read its error state and error. When a
receipt fails while approval is loading, set the hook status to `error` with the
receipt error message or a fallback; on success, call `refetchAllowance()`
before preserving the existing success and reset behavior.
- Around line 293-297: Replace the duplicated user-rejection checks in
useTokenApproval with a shared isUserRejection helper moved from useSiweAuth;
recognize structured rejection codes or error types rather than treating any
message containing “4001” as a rejection.
- Around line 233-245: Update the amount validation in useTokenApproval to
reject amount values less than or equal to zero. Remove the ineffective
allowUnlimited option and its associated MAX_UINT256 approval path. Update
approve to reject submissions while status is loading, preserving tracking of
the pending transaction.
- Around line 129-131: In useTokenApproval, reject non-canonical overrideSpender
values before submitting either approval transaction: compare the override with
the TruthBountyWeighted address and throw the specified mismatch error in
executeApproval and resetApprovalFinal. Use the canonical address as
expectedSpender so overrides cannot redirect allowances.

In `@src/hooks/useTokenBalance.ts`:
- Around line 86-144: Update readFromContract and the duplicated effect read
path to use one shared reader that captures the starting address and chainId;
ignore results if that account/chain is no longer current. Clear balance,
formattedBalance, decimals, and symbol on read errors instead of retaining stale
values.

In `@src/hooks/useTransaction.ts`:
- Around line 147-158: In the transaction validation flow, move the `!address`
check before the `chainId` validation so a disconnected wallet reports “Wallet
not connected” even when `chainId` is undefined. Keep the existing error
handling for both checks unchanged.
- Around line 322-325: Update the retry path’s chainId validation to handle both
non-numeric and unsupported chain IDs: set the error state and invoke onError,

Make the WalletConnect assertion independent of the existing environment.

When NEXT_PUBLIC_WALLETCONNECT_PROJECT_ID is already set, this setup retains its value. The test in src/__tests__/regression/mock-removal.test.ts still expects "test-fixture-walletconnect-project-id", so that test fails in a configured environment. Make the assertion use the configured value, or install a deterministic fixture for that test.

## State Transitions

The token approval flow follows the canonical 11-state transaction lifecycle (V2-FE-009):

```
idle → preparing → signature-requested → submitted → confirming → safe → finalized
↘ replaced | dropped | reverted
```

**Token approval states:**
- `idle` → `preparing` — validation checks pass (balance, spender, amount)
- `preparing` → `signature-requested` — wallet popup opens for ERC-20 `approve()`
- `signature-requested` → `submitted` — txHash received from Wagmi
- `submitted` → `confirming` → `safe` → `finalized` — receipt and confirmation tracking
- Terminal failures: `reverted` (on-chain revert), `dropped` (mempool eviction), `replaced` (nonce speedup)

Remove this file, or correct the claims the code does not support.

This document is a PR description committed to the repository root. Several of its claims are false:

  • 11-state lifecycle: useTokenApproval exposes only idle | loading | success | error. It does not integrate with the V2-FE-009 state machine, and it has no reverted, dropped, or replaced states.
  • Spender validation (Line 34, Line 78): the hook does not validate overrideSpender.
  • Wrong asset (Line 35): a chain-ID check does not validate the asset.
  • lastError (Line 44): the hook has no lastError.
  • wallet.ts writeContract (Line 54): wallet.ts only reads. claimRewards still throws.
  • "Zero UI component changes" (Line 80): how-it-works/page.tsx changed. The README claim needs a matching diff.
  • Files Changed (Lines 116-128): the line counts do not match the files.
  • Commands Run: no output backs the listed commands.

Move this content to the PR description and keep only verified statements. The maintainer asked for an accurate comparison with the approved transaction journey before any further work.

Test the getTokenBalance read, not whole-file strings.

These assertions pass if another function mentions readContract and TruthBountyWeighted while getTokenBalance remains a stub. Mock the contract read. Then assert the returned balance and the token address used by getTokenBalance.

Keep sendTransactionAsync for raw calldata. Do not use writeContractAsync.

This call sends a raw to/data/value transaction. writeContractAsync expects address, abi, functionName, and args, and it encodes calldata from the ABI. The as never cast hides the type mismatch. At runtime the call has no abi, so the submission fails. Line 179 also leaves both calls in place, which is a parse error.

Delete line 178. Remove the cast. Replace writeContractAsync with sendTransactionAsync in the dependency array at line 228.

Report an error when retry cannot run.

retry now returns silently when chainId is not a number. The old code threw for unsupported chains. The user presses retry and nothing happens, with no error state. Set an error and call onError, as submit does. Also reject chains that are numeric but unsupported.

Do not report the connector's first configured chain as the wallet's chain.

connector.chains[0] is the first chain in the wagmi config. It is not the chain the wallet is connected to. Here is how this goes wrong:

  1. wagmi reports chainId as undefined.
  2. useWallet returns the first configured chain, for example Optimism mainnet 10, even when the wallet is on some other network.
  3. Any caller that validates chainId then accepts a network it has not confirmed.

The path instructions require truthful chain validation. Return the chain id that wagmi reported. Callers must treat undefined as an unknown network.

Proposed fix
- const connectorChains = (
- activeConnector as { chains?: readonly { id: number }[] } | undefined
-  )?.chains;
- const effectiveChainId =
-    chainId ?? connectorChains?.[0]?.id ?? undefined;
+ // Do not infer a chain: callers must treat undefined as "unknown network".
+  const effectiveChainId = chainId;

As per path instructions: "Prioritize truthful transaction lifecycle, chain/account validation".

Duplicate getTokenDecimals implementations return a made-up 18 on failure. Two copies of the same function catch every read error and return 18. If the token uses a different precision, or the contract is missing, amounts are scaled wrongly and nothing reports the failure.

Use the deployed token interface for the ERC-20 methods.

The configured TruthBountyWeighted address delegates to 0xf6d504109d1248c67de37c7dca863ba4651a0907. That implementation does not expose the decimals, symbol, allowance, or approve selectors. Calls to all four methods return empty data, so the token reads cannot decode and approval calls cannot use the ERC-20 interface.

Replace this ABI with one generated from the deployed contract, or bind the token hooks to the actual ERC-20 token address and ABI. Keep the existing claim flow’s explicit token and spender configuration separate from the TruthBountyWeighted contract ABI.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Clear stale balances and ignore out-of-date reads.

Both read paths keep ...prev while loading and after an error.

  • If the account or chain changes and the new read fails, the hook shows the old account's balance, formattedBalance, and symbol next to the new error.
  • readFromContract has no cancellation. If refetch() for account A resolves after a switch to account B, it overwrites B's state with A's balance.
  • The effect copies the same read logic instead of calling one shared function.

Use one read function that takes the address and chainId it started with. Drop any result that no longer matches the current key. Reset the data fields to null on error. A react-query-backed Wagmi useReadContracts gives keyed caching and cancellation by default.

As per path instructions, src/** must prioritize "chain/account validation" and "accessible failure states".

Derive ERC20_ABI from the loaded canonical ABI.

The comment calls ERC20_ABI a subset of the TruthBountyWeighted ABI, but the code redeclares it by hand. The repository now has three ABI sources for the same calls:

  • release/abi/TruthBountyWeighted.json
  • this constant
  • the parseAbi copy in src/hooks/useClaimCreationTransaction.ts

If the release artifact changes, this copy does not follow it. Build ERC20_ABI from loaded.abis.TruthBountyWeighted, or export the canonical ABI directly with a type assertion.

As per path instructions, src/** must prioritize "canonical ABI/address usage".

release/abi/TruthBountyWeighted.json lines 23-44, close allowance after its
inputs and add its uint256 output, give treasuryBalance a separate object, and
close approve before the next function. In release/checksums.json lines 6-7,
keep one checksum entry per affected file and recompute the SHA-256 values for

contents.

In `@src/app/`(dashboard)/page.tsx:

supplied claimRows and claimsLoading props; remove the adjacent duplicate table
that renders without claims.
- Line 3: Remove the duplicate React import in the dashboard page, keeping a
single import that includes the needed hooks. In the page component, remove the
duplicate claimsLoading declaration and reuse the existing useClaims() result
when deriving claimRows.

In `@src/components/features/ActiveClaimsTable.tsx`:
- Line 10: Move the ActiveClaimRow interface declaration below the module’s
imports so imports remain at module scope and the file compiles; keep its
existing shape and avoid duplicating declarations.

In `@src/config/protocol/__tests__/verification-artifact.test.ts`:
- Line 69: Remove the older duplicate `env` declaration from each affected test,
including the tests around the `DEPLOYED_ENV` setup, and keep the
`Partial<typeof DEPLOYED_ENV>` declaration.

In `@src/hooks/tests/useWallet.test.tsx`:
- Around line 119-129: Update the `exposes the chain id when connected` test to
assert that `result.current.chainId` equals `optimismSepolia.id`, then
disconnect and wait for `isConnected` to become false so the test leaves a clean
slate.

In `@src/hooks/useRewards.ts`:
- Around line 31-35: Remove the unterminated and duplicate ClaimableReward
declarations so only the complete declaration remains, resolving the TypeScript
syntax error. Also remove the repeated comment adjacent to that declaration.

In `@src/hooks/useTokenApproval.ts`:
- Around line 274-278: Clear the previous transaction hash when a new submission
starts so receipt tracking cannot mark the new approval successful using an old
confirmed hash. Update the loading-state updates in the approval submission flow
and the corresponding flow near `resetApproval` to set `txHash` to null while
preserving the other state fields.
- Around line 313-315: Update the error-reset setTimeout calls in the approval
flow to store their timer in a ref, clear any pending timer before starting a
new submission or scheduling another reset, and clean it up on unmount. This
prevents an earlier attempt’s timer from resetting the status of a retry.
- Around line 223-271: Update the validation checks in the approval flow to use
the same state-based failure contract as submission failures: set state.error
and status to 'error', then return without throwing for disconnected wallets,
wrong networks, disallowed unlimited or zero amounts, and insufficient balance.
- Line 111: Update the approval validation in the useTokenApproval hook to use
useAccount().chainId as connectedChainId instead of useChainId(), and use it in
the network checks and error messages. Pass chainId: releaseChainId to both
approve writes, and add connectedChainId to both callback dependency arrays.

In `@src/hooks/useTransaction.ts`:
- Around line 238-249: Update waitForConfirmation to use the submitted
transaction’s chainId rather than account.chainId, and obtain the public client
for that same chain. Validate the chain with isSupportedChain before calling
getChainConfig, keeping unsupported-chain handling within the failure-recording
path; retain account connection validation.
- Around line 294-305: Update the confirmation error handling in the catch block
that creates failedTx: set reason to 'timeout' only for
WaitForTransactionReceiptTimeoutError, and use 'network-error' or 'unknown' for
other errors so getStateMessage reports the failure accurately.

In `@src/hooks/useWallet.ts`:
- Around line 89-99: Resolve the merge conflicts that left duplicate
declarations and unclosed blocks across nine files, restoring valid parsing
while retaining the intended single implementation at each site. In
src/hooks/useWallet.ts (89-99), keep one wagmiConnect and one isConnected, close
the first onError block and remove its duplicate, and remove the duplicate memo
closure; in src/hooks/useAccount.ts (41-41), remove the second destructuring and
dependency array, keep one useDisconnect export, and remove isConnected,
isConnecting, and isDisconnected from AccountInfo. In
src/app/(dashboard)/identity/page.tsx (3-7), import useState once and useAccount
from wagmi, and remove walletAddress state, its effect, and the legacy handler
body; in src/components/ui/ConnectButton.tsx (1-10), remove the duplicate copy
while keeping 'use client' first, onClick ?? openConnectModal, and
type="button". In
src/components/features/claim-submission/ClaimSubmissionForm.tsx (164-166),
delete duplicate connect, connectors, and isWalletConnected declarations; in
src/hooks/useTransaction.ts (231-233), keep one waitForConfirmation declaration.
In src/lib/transaction-state.ts (213-217), retain one implementation of
getReceiptStatus, branch 4 of shouldWaitForFinality, the receipt checks in
validateTransaction, and the address and hash checks in assertNoFabricatedData,
closing every block. In src/hooks/tests/useWallet.test.tsx (192-199), restore a

Finish the conflict resolution in the release artifacts.

The merge left duplicate JSON keys in two files. JSON.parse keeps the last duplicate value, so both files parse without an error but with the wrong content. The parsed ABI loses allowance and approve. The effective ABI checksum is the old hash, which cannot match the changed ABI file.

  • release/abi/TruthBountyWeighted.json#L23-L44: close the allowance object after its inputs and add "outputs": [{ "name": "", "type": "uint256" }]. Give treasuryBalance its own object. Close the approve object after Line 44 so that the next function has its own object.
  • release/checksums.json#L6-L7: keep one entry for each of abi/TruthBountyWeighted.json and events/event-schema.json. Recompute each SHA-256 from the final file contents.

Remove the duplicate dashboard declarations.

Line 3 imports React under the same name as the existing import on Line 4. Line 116 also declares claimsLoading again in the scope where Line 128 declares it. These duplicate bindings prevent the page from compiling. Keep one React import and use the existing useClaims() result for claimRows.

Render the claims table once.

Clear txHash when a new submission starts. The hook can report success for an unsigned approval.

After a confirmed approval, txHash keeps the old hash for 3 seconds, until the auto-reset timer runs. If approve or resetApproval runs in that window, this setState sets status: 'loading' and keeps the old txHash. submittedHash then becomes the old, confirmed hash. useWaitForTransactionReceipt returns isSuccess: true for that hash. The effect at Lines 144-153 sets status: 'success' while the wallet prompt is still open. This happens even if the user later rejects the prompt. Apply the same fix at Lines 353-357.

Cancel the error-reset timers. A stale timer stops confirmation tracking for a retry.

These setTimeout calls have no cleanup and do not check which attempt they belong to. Trigger: an approval fails, and the user retries within 4 seconds. The retry sets status: 'loading' and receives a new txHash. The old timer then sets status: 'idle'. submittedHash (Line 137) becomes undefined, so useWaitForTransactionReceipt stops watching the new transaction. The new approval never reaches success.

Store the timer in a useRef. Clear it when a new submission starts and when the component unmounts. Alternatively, move the error reset into an effect keyed on state.status, like the success reset.

🐛 Proposed fix

Take the chain from the submitted transaction, not from the current wallet session.

waitForConfirmation reads account.chainId and uses usePublicClient() when it is called. Here is a failure case:

  1. The user submits on Optimism (10).
  2. The user switches the wallet to another chain before calling waitForConfirmation.
  3. The receipt poll runs against the wrong chain and times out.
  4. The failed record stores the new chain id.

getChainConfig(chainId) also throws outside the try block for an unsupported chain, so no failed state is recorded. Pass the submission chainId (from transaction.chainId) and use usePublicClient({ chainId }). Also check isSupportedChain before the lookup. As per path instructions: "Prioritize truthful transaction lifecycle, chain/account validation".

Do not record every confirmation error as timeout.
