No audio output from Dicio when connected to Android Auto

When my phone is connected to a car system via Android Auto, I cannot hear any audio from Dicio (wake word feedback, TTS responses, etc.).

Bluetooth audio works fine with a normal Bluetooth speaker, so the problem appears to be specific to Android Auto audio routing: Android Auto seems to swallow Dicio's audio stream and it never reaches the car's speakers.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Connect phone to car via Android Auto
2. Start Dicio (wake word or microphone button)
3. Say a command - no audio output is heard from the car speakers

Phone is a Motorola G10, with Android 11. Dicio version is 4.0

Pure Bluetooth works in the car too, it's really just Android Auto which fails -- Sent from hand-held device with K-9 Mail. Please excuse my brevity.
