It should be easy for someone to use OpenSSL instead of the native Swift implementation for elliptic curve key operations, if they wish. I think the best approach is to use a compiler flag at the ECKey level; when set it just functions a Swift wrapper for OpenSSL.
In terms of distribution I'm not sure what the best approach is. Perhaps two different Cocoapods, one for each flag?
