Summary

  • The restored edge h0 ^= h1, y ^= h0, h0 ^= h1 returns both helpers to their starting columns. The checker's literal mask names only h0. The column replay delivers h0 XOR h1.
  • After the first gate, h0 holds both columns. The two direct writes y ^= h0 and y ^= h1, with no edge, deliver exactly the helpers they name.
  • No 661-column replay and no new exponent. The paid profile cited by the phase-B note is unchanged by this three-gate check.

Test plan

  • python3.12 -B research/helper-star-literal-k/verify.py
  • python3.12 -B research/helper-star-literal-k/test_verify.py
  • python3.12 -B scripts/research_package.py --package research/helper-star-literal-k
  • Confirm the registered replay on the maintainer's Python 3.12 checkout

Made with Cursor

The edge h0 ^= h1, the target write y ^= h0, and the restoring edge leave both helpers clean, while the delivered helper mask is h0 XOR h1.
