We make a colouring app for iPad that respects your attention.
Colour Within is a meditative, offline-first colouring experience: you pick a vector page, choose colours from a working set, and fill regions with pencil, marker, and tap-fill tools. Strokes stay clipped to the region boundaries. The matching regions glow softly. There are no streaks, no daily quests, no notifications nagging you back.
We think colouring is something you do to yourself, not something an app does to you.
- Website — colourwithin.app
- iPad — Colour Within is iPad-only and runs on iPadOS 17 or later.
- Privacy — colourwithin.app/privacy.html
- Support — colourwithin.app/support.html
A small set of values we try to keep:
- Honest defaults. The app's posture out of the box is the one most users would consciously choose if asked.
- Offline-first. Your drawings stay on your iPad. There is no cloud sync, no account, no shared library.
- Privacy as a contract, not a footnote. Our
PrivacyInfo.xcprivacyis auditable, our App Store Connect questionnaire mirrors it row-for-row, and the audit is checked into the repo. - No engagement traps. We don't optimise for time-on-app. We optimise for the experience of finishing a page and putting the iPad down.
Most of our work is in private/internal repositories. The public surface is:
ColourWithin/feedback— public feedback channel for the iPad app. File a problem, suggest a feature, or join a discussion.ColourWithin/.github— org-wide community standards, contribution guide, and code of conduct.
Public open-source releases, when we have any, will be highlighted here.
