Reuse the focused fix from 89031d2 (PR #8). Initialise TMPDIR in a runner step instead of the unavailable job-level runner context. Preserve all triggers, guards, permissions, action pins, timeouts, scientific commands and frozen inputs. Validated YAML, exact semantic delta, shell syntax and TMPDIR assignment including spaces. The shared
.github/workflows/p112-common-slice.ymlemits instantaneous failure workflow runs for every push to unrelated research branches, including QQ16 and staged544. The failing runs contain zero jobs and use the filename rather than the workflow's configured name. Examples: QQ16 #39189206135, review-base #39189759307.The original YAML sets
TMPDIR: ${{ runner.temp }}/p112-common-sliceinjobs.exact-slice.env. Per GitHub context availability,runneris not available atjobs.<job_id>.env. This causes workflow validation to fail before job creation, independent of P112/QQ16 research code.Repair
Replace the invalid job-level expression with an initial run step that writes
TMPDIR=$RUNNER_TEMP/p112-common-sliceto$GITHUB_ENV. The environment value is available to all subsequent steps. The upstream-onlyif: github.repository == 'CrocSwap/integer-mult-bounds'guard, manualworkflow_dispatchtrigger, resource bounds, scientific commands, and source inputs are unchanged.This is one workflow file and one commit, based on the fork's main.
