👩💻️ I’m a Software Developer for Disney Streaming, working on Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and more
-
🌱 I’m also interested in rock climbing, brewing & fermenting and barista skills
-
💽️ I’m always looking to build on my skills as a developer, and learn new stuff
-
☁️ I've been working on provisioning AWS resources, and implementing Observability, primarily through Metrics -> DataDog and provisioning Alerts and SLOs via Terraform IAC
-
🃏 I really enjoy Test-Driven Development, and get far too excited about building test suites

💬 Other things you might ask me about:
- my previous career as an Attorney
- having two vicars for parents
- my work with Manchester Trans Liberation Assembly
- the period of time that I ran a village pub and got my Personal Licence
- the local Market Garden that I volunteer at
Over the last few months I have switched towards much more casual games - I've been playing a lot of Monster Train, Dave the Diver and Plate Up!. I've also been dipping in and out of Atomic Heart which is fantastic, but just at the moment my motivation levels for bigger RPG games (especially combat-centric ones) is low.
I'm primarily indoor Bouldering, and I try to climb 2-3 times a week. I'm currently pushing myself to complete V5 grade climbs, having become more comfortable with V3 and V4 climbs.
Most recently I have been experimenting with pickling, after a large harvest of beetroot - I haven't yet achieved the level of 'crunch' I would like to retain in the end product; more experimenting needed! I'm currently enjoying a lacto-ferment that I made with some Wild Garlic and Three‑Cornered Leek that I foraged on a local walk.
I spend my 9-5 at work coding in Scala/Java primarily, as well as working with Terraform, DataDog and AWS for our IAC. When I do code outside of work it is primarily maintenance / bug fixes on my Discord Bot which helps to run Online Pub Quizzes on Discord - it can be found here, and includes custom APIs, a Discord Bot, firestore database management, and interactions with Google Forms API.
I've also taken on the task of 'sprucing up' an existing website for a church - I am constrained by many restrictions (not least that I'm not allowed to change the host, nor move away from WordPress) but you can take a look at my handiwork here, and feel free to give me some pointers (I'm always keen to learn more frontend skills!)
I am always excited to learn new tech, and expand on the tech I know; if you've seen a gap in my skillset, or think there's a cool resource I should check out, please let me know!
