HOTP codes not importing correctly

I have tried importing a few event based codes, and they are generating codes like they are time based. I have a few older tokens from before that are working correctly. I tried adding some codes that I know worked correctly before, and it is not importing them correctly.

Just faced this issue and I found a workaround:

1. Don't scan the QR code, instead, copy the link read from it
2. Click on "Edit" (pencil icon on the top right side corner)
3. Click on "Add" (plus icon)
4. Select "Manual Entry"
5. Paste the link on the "Issuer" box and remove everything but the string after issuer= part of the link
6. Paste the link on the "Secret" box and remove everything but the string after secret= part of the link
7. Open the "Advance" section
8. Paste the link on the "User" box and remove everything but the string after hotp/
9. Make sure you select "Counter based" in the Type selector
10. Select OK

With this, you should be good to go.

Note that it's better to copy the whole link, paste it in the different fields and remove what's not needed than copy/pasting several times because that way the modal window will close and you won't be able to add the entry.
Also, the important part is the secret, you might not have issuerquery param in your link.
