    Resolved fork sync request 40388458479.

    • Fork main: 54aeb9ba2df2f3ffbe288f529f1229b5d409b8f0
    • Requested upstream: 3f9448747bb8848050dc2cacf83affa6f94a66a1
    • Candidate: 0471df97c26add67da4b1308d05b2f17d1c3edc2

    Three files conflicted:

    • apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/CodexAdapterV2.ts: retained the fork's overload retry-row emitter and upstream's goal-update release helper, keeping upstream's current goal parsing and lifecycle structure.
    • apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Orchestrator.ts: retained upstream's special handling for queued goal commands before the fork's ordinary agent queue promotion logic. Goals retain upstream stop/start behavior; ordinary agent text updates still wait for a tool boundary when native steering would interrupt tools.
    • apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/SteeringCompletion.integration.test.ts: preserved both independent appended test groups and the automatically merged harness changes, covering upstream goal behavior and retained fork steering behavior.

No fork patch was superseded by these upstream goal changes. No additional adaptation or tooling changes were needed.

    Validation passed:

    • corepack pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
    • corepack pnpm exec vp run --filter t3 typecheck
    • corepack pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/CodexAdapterV2.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/ClaudeAdapterV2.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/SteeringCompletion.integration.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProviderTurnStartService.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/CommandPolicy.test.ts: 5 files, 523 tests passed.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp fmt --check: all 6,097 matched files passed.
    • git diff --check 54aeb9ba2df2f3ffbe288f529f1229b5d409b8f0 HEAD: passed, with no upstream whitespace exceptions.
    • No unresolved index entries or merge/revert state; checkout clean; both requested SHAs are ancestors of HEAD. Resolved files use LF endings.
    • Independent read-only review of all three resolutions and nearby automatically merged goal/retry/agent paths: no actionable findings.

No required validation was skipped. Review focus: goal-command priority in queue promotion and retention of the separate Codex retry/goal helpers; there are no unresolved decisions or uncertain resolutions.

Resolved with GPT-6.1 Sol at high effort through the Codex harness, with independent GPT-6.1 Sol review.

No fork patch was superseded by these upstream goal changes. The original merge required no tooling changes. The subsequent CI failure and its adaptation are described below.

Fix round after CI run https://github.com/Alb11747/t3code/actions/runs/40389260933:

    • Reproduced both reported failures locally: web typecheck rejected the removed onManualNavigation prop, and the timeline browser file failed its manual-reading-position test (29 passed, 1 failed). The citation properties in the type diagnostic were incidental.
    • Traced the fixture to fork commit b16e6cc14db2a016552f5d5074ee5076e3d584ad (test(web): preserve manual navigation when reopening timelines) and its entry in fork/CHANGES.md.
    • Upstream commit 3cb16cf16509e74e2f483f541010996a9e6fac34, PR fix(web): find shows its match after a thread switch, and the timeline hears scrolling through one viewport signal pingdotgg/t3code#25463 (fix(web): find shows its match after a thread switch, and the timeline hears scrolling through one viewport signal), replaced onManualNavigation with onViewportAttach and removed unconditional post-render/follow-disable scroll reporting.
    • Adapted only the fork's test fixture: it subscribes to the shared viewport signal, disables follow and announces its release for navigation, including position restoration. After asserting the restored physical offset, it dispatches an unchanged-position scroll event while awaiting normal scroll reporting. The existing restoration guard must release before this succeeds. Every original assertion remains, including remembered atEnd: false, exact saved offset, reopening, switching to another thread's end, and switching back to the saved offset. No tests were weakened, removed, or skipped; production behavior is unchanged.
    • The first viewport adaptation exposed the missing normal scroll report on reopening. Initializing follow from the saved position did not fix it and was removed; the final fixture retains production's initial following state and explicitly exercises the new reporting boundary.
    • Independent read-only review confirmed the viewport subscription and explicit reporting event preserve the regression's intent without canceling restoration or changing the scroll offset. No actionable findings remain.

    Fix-round validation:

    • corepack pnpm exec vp run --filter @t3tools/web typecheck: passed.
    • From apps/web, corepack pnpm exec vp test run src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.browser.test.tsx: four consecutive final-version runs passed, 30 tests each. The three additional repetition logs are logs/40388458479-web-test-{1,2,3}.log outside the checkout.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp fmt --check: all 6,097 matched files passed.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp lint apps/web/src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.browser.test.tsx: passed.
    • git diff --check 54aeb9ba2df2f3ffbe288f529f1229b5d409b8f0: passed; changed fixture uses LF endings.
    • No .github/ or fork/ tooling changes. No direct branch pushes; publication uses the required helper.

Fixed candidate: 464e6eb8b0fcac4e8783087fa72b231e46b934c9, adding test(web): adapt timeline restoration to viewport navigation on top of merge 0471df97c26add67da4b1308d05b2f17d1c3edc2.

Final committed checkout is clean, has no unresolved index entries or merge/revert state, and contains both requested SHAs. The diff against request main passes git diff --check. No required checks were skipped and there are no unresolved decisions.

First fixed candidate: 464e6eb8b0fcac4e8783087fa72b231e46b934c9, adding test(web): adapt timeline restoration to viewport navigation on top of merge 0471df97c26add67da4b1308d05b2f17d1c3edc2.

Final committed checkout is clean, has no unresolved index entries or merge/revert state, and contains both requested SHAs. The diff against request main passes git diff --check. No required checks were skipped and there are no unresolved decisions.

Additional fix round after settling the first fixed candidate:

    • All hosted checks passed in https://github.com/Alb11747/t3code/actions/runs/40391531745, including Quality and the full web suite. The blocking settle helper then exited 5 because Codex identified the older fork file-download patch's forgeable navigation marker: Upstream sync needs review #30 (comment).
    • Verified that finding against fork commit 83b318ebef49227895701910da7ddf595153b6fa (feat(web): download files from chat file links) and its fork/CHANGES.md entry. Added the attacker-origin navigation expectation first and reproduced its failure: a forged https://attacker.example/api/assets/...#download URL reached Electron's native download API.
    • Restored upstream's external-navigation policy by removing the #download exception from DesktopWindow. The controlled chat context-menu action now passes its permission-checked, server-minted signed URL through an optional desktop preload IPC method. That command accepts HTTP(S) asset URLs and uses the main window's native download API. Web and older desktop builds keep ordinary signed attachment links without a marker. Local and remote downloads remain supported; server signing, file identity, and permission checks are unchanged.
    • Preserved the navigation test and expanded it to verify marked local, remote, and attacker URLs all follow the ordinary external-browser policy. Moved the positive native-download expectations to IPC behavior tests covering both local and remote assets, added rejection checks for non-asset/non-HTTP URLs, and added a browser test proving the minted URL reaches desktop IPC without navigation. No tests were deleted or weakened; changed navigation expectations enforce the intentional security fix.
    • Independent read-only review found no actionable issues. No fork/ tooling or .github/ edits were needed.

    Additional fix-round validation passed:

    • corepack pnpm exec vp run --filter @t3tools/desktop --filter @t3tools/web --filter @t3tools/contracts typecheck: all three packages passed.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp test run apps/desktop/src/window/DesktopWindow.test.ts apps/desktop/src/ipc/methods/window.test.ts: 2 files, 31 tests passed.
    • From apps/web, corepack pnpm exec vp test run src/components/ChatMarkdown.permissions.browser.test.tsx src/components/chat/MessagesTimeline.browser.test.tsx: 2 files, 38 tests passed.
    • Focused lint for all 10 additional changed files passed.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp fmt --check: all 6,097 matched files passed.
    • git diff --check 54aeb9ba2df2f3ffbe288f529f1229b5d409b8f0 HEAD: passed. All changed files use LF endings.
    • Final checkout is clean, has no unresolved index entries or merge/revert state, and contains both requested SHAs. No required checks were skipped.

Final candidate: 391c9c581e6ff646eb824c29d8080c3297fe3f75. It adds 391c9c581e (fix(desktop): download chat files through explicit IPC) after 464e6eb8b0 and merge 0471df97c2. Both fix commits credit GPT-6.1 Sol at high effort and its independent review subagent.

Candidate after the first two fix rounds: 391c9c581e6ff646eb824c29d8080c3297fe3f75. It adds 391c9c581e (fix(desktop): download chat files through explicit IPC) after 464e6eb8b0 and merge 0471df97c2. Both fix commits credit GPT-6.1 Sol at high effort and its independent review subagent.

Previous settlement outcome before the maintainer authorized the additional round: not promoted; left for human review.

    • All hosted checks passed for final candidate 391c9c581e in https://github.com/Alb11747/t3code/actions/runs/40396168232.
    • The required blocking settle-candidate.sh run exited 3: Codex review has findings after 2 fix attempts. It recorded the handoff on issue Upstream sync conflict #29: Upstream sync conflict #29 (comment). Neither blocking settle invocation set FORK_SETTLE_TIMEOUT; each used a 70-minute outer command limit.
    • Remaining P2 finding: preserve notification metadata when steering delegated questions, Upstream sync needs review #30 (comment). It concerns apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Orchestrator.ts, especially dispatchSteerIntoRun around line 4329 and callers around lines 5533 and 8619. Source inspection confirms the helper input and both callers omit notification while forwarding delegatedCompletion. Codex reports that this renders delegated questions as ordinary user messages rather than linked child-task notifications in both tool-boundary and safe-steering paths. No additional fix or runtime reproduction was attempted after the resolver's fix-attempt limit.
    • The earlier download-marker finding is addressed in 391c9c581e; the original timeline typecheck and browser failures are addressed in 464e6eb8b0 and passed hosted CI twice.
    • At that handoff, the checkout was clean on resolve/40388458479 for inspection. Main was never pushed directly; no .github/ or fork/ tooling files were edited. The Phoenix maintainer subsequently authorized the additional round below.

Maintainer-authorized additional round for delegated-question notification metadata:

    • The maintainer explicitly authorized fixing the remaining P2, reopening the ledger with status: "claimed" and fix_attempts: 0, and publishing/settling again. A new finding in older fork code untouched by this sync must be handed back without a further fix; real CI failures may receive one fix.
    • Extended the existing Orchestrator question integration tests in DelegatedTaskQuestionDispatch.test.ts. Before changing production code, both the safe-steering case and the new tool-boundary delivery case failed because the persisted message's notification was undefined; the queued and Stop cases passed. The retained regression output is logs/40388458479-notification-before.log outside the checkout.
    • Added six production lines to Orchestrator.ts: accept optional notification metadata in dispatchSteerIntoRun, persist it in the reconstructed message, and forward it from both the direct-dispatch and queued-promotion callers. Existing notificationTurnItem conversion now retains the linked child-task notice. delegatedCompletion handling and precedence are unchanged.
    • Tests assert exact notification metadata, a notification turn item linked to the child task, and absence of an ordinary user-message item for the question. Existing queuing, retry deduplication, Stop, and disposal assertions remain. No tests were weakened or removed.
    • Commit 40a4615ebc10953e310ac058e4adaf2a160fc117 (fix(server): retain notification metadata when steering questions) names fork commits fff81a29b6 (fix(server): preserve delegated question delivery across task lifecycle) and 2d7eef08e4 (fix(server): Claude takes agent updates at tool boundaries). Independent read-only Sol review found no actionable issues.

    Additional-round validation passed:

    • corepack pnpm exec vp run --filter t3 typecheck.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/DelegatedTaskQuestionDispatch.test.ts: all 4 cases passed after failing first for both delivery paths.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/DelegatedTaskQuestionDispatch.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/SteeringCompletion.integration.test.ts apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/DelegatedCompletionDelivery.test.ts: 3 files, 65 tests passed.
    • Focused lint for both additional changed files.
    • corepack pnpm exec vp fmt --check: all 6,097 matched files passed.
    • git diff --check 54aeb9ba2df2f3ffbe288f529f1229b5d409b8f0 HEAD: passed. Changed files use LF endings. Final committed checkout is clean, contains both requested SHAs, and has no unresolved index entries or merge/revert state.
    • No required checks were skipped. No .github/ or fork/ tooling files were edited, and main was never pushed directly.

Current candidate: 40a4615ebc10953e310ac058e4adaf2a160fc117, on top of 391c9c581e, 464e6eb8b0, and merge 0471df97c2.

Candidate 40a4615ebc10953e310ac058e4adaf2a160fc117 was not promoted automatically: checks or Codex review did not finish in time. It needs human review.
