It looks like the TUN interface is created successfully, but the routing rules are never installed, so all traffic continues to use the normal default route and there is no Internet access through the tunnel.

Until this gets fixed the following can be done about this error to make the application function:
In "Settings->Option setting->Tun Mode settings" enable "Legacy TUN Protect". This requires installing sing-box package. After the sing-box package is installed there may be a problem with finding its binary [which it tries to open at .../v2rayN/bin/sing_box/sing-box]. Just create a symbolic link to binary there or do whatever else you need

it is fine, but I use vless+xhttp, singbox has not implement this. in my situation this resolution not work. for fix I use two programs: nekoray for TUN function and v2rayN for socks5 on localhost with bind to my gateway interface for don't create traffic loop

I manually assigned the TUN interface with ipv4 address and set it as default route:

# ip addr add 172.18.0.2/30 dev xray_tun
# ip route replace default via 172.18.0.1 dev xray_tun

After doing this, the Internet started working through the tunnel

suggests that the VPN connection and TUN forwarding are working, but the TUN initialization is incomplete

If anybody needs this for something critical, one option that works is just downloading an older version of v2rayN.

same issue, [app/router: Unables to find local process name: common/net: connection for 127.0.0.1:xxxxx

and the xray tun mode cannot proxy (chatgpt desktop) on mac, had to downgrade to v2rayn 7.22.5, then it went back to work on chatgpt.
not sure if other apps have the same issue.
