Release-path changes for the first release (Sunday 2026-10-04), checked end to end by a dry-run pre-check on strixhalo.

  • scripts/weekly.sh:
    • Lemonade's LLM suite runs with --backend hrx.
    • lemond gets its own cache and config directories.
    • Builds run at -j4 (WEEKLY_JOBS), to fit the 4 pinned cores of the thermal wrapper.
  • docs/releases.md: the example uses --device auto.
  • zstd uses 4 threads instead of all cores (package-linux, mkimage, weekly).

Pre-check (WEEKLY_DRY_RUN=1, nothing published):

  • Build: PASS (max 85 C under the thermal wrapper).
  • Tests: ctest 23/23.
  • Packages: all four built (Linux tarball 118 MB, lemonade-onebit 5.3 MB, Windows zip 17.9 MB, 1bit OS image 104 MB).
  • Lemonade suite on HRX, run from the packaged tarballs: 31 tests, OK, 2 skipped (the recipe declares those parameters unsupported). Reranking with jina passes on HRX.
  • Ternary-Bonsai-2-27B PTQ1_0 through Lemonade on HRX: correct.

Related fixes found by the pre-check: #292 (a packaged 1bit used the build tree's backends), lemonade fork #9 (Lemonade launched 1bit serve on Vulkan by default), llama.cpp #74 (PQ2_0 1.7B decode).

- lemonade_suite ran Lemonade's LLM suite with --backend vulkan; the engine is HRX-only since
2026-10-01, so it runs --backend hrx (the onebit recipe declares hrx in the suite's capabilities).
- lemond started with the user's ~/.cache/lemonade and ~/.config/lemonade; it now gets
  $W/lemonade-state/{cache,config} as its positional cache_dir / config_dir (lemond's cli_parser).
- WEEKLY_JOBS defaults to 4: the cron run goes through ~/lb/thermal-run.sh, which allows 4 cores.
- docs/releases.md: the quick-start example uses --device auto (HRX).

Found by the release pre-check (2026-10-02); to be validated by its dry run before merge.

The release pre-check saw the 1bit OS initramfs compression (zstd -19 -T0) climb from 83 to 94 C in
three seconds. The release runs on 4 pinned cores, so 4 threads loses nothing.
