Student benefits renewal issue

Hi everyone,

Hello GitHub Education team,
I previously had access to the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but it has since expired. When I attempted to renew my pack, the process got stuck; instead of showing me the renewal form, I’m now automatically redirected to the GitHub pricing page.
This seems to be a common issue when a renewal attempt is denied or incomplete, as the account gets locked in that state. I’d like to request assistance in resetting my Education application status so I can reapply with updated proof of enrollment.
Here’s what I have ready for re-verification:

• ✅ Valid student ID with visible dates
• ✅ Transcript showing current enrollment
• ✅ Academic email address linked to my GitHub account
  Could someone from the GitHub Education team please help me clear the expired/denied state so I can submit my documents again?

Hello bro,
I came across for this issue several times. First make sure you turned on 2 step verification, then write your full name and surname to billing and licensing section(same as student id) . After these steps I am sure you can access the GitHub Student Developer Pack.

This is a known GitHub Education renewal lock-state issue. It cannot be fixed from the UI.

What’s happening:
If a renewal attempt is denied or interrupted, the account can get stuck redirecting to the pricing page instead of showing the re-verification form. Re-trying from the pricing page will always loop.

Correct resolution:

1. Do not retry from the pricing page.

2. Open a GitHub Education support ticket and explicitly request:

   “Please reset my Student Developer Pack application state so I can reapply.”

3. In the ticket, include:

   • your GitHub username
   • that you previously had the Student Developer Pack
   • that renewal redirects to pricing instead of the application form

4. Attach proof directly in the ticket:

   • valid student ID with dates
   • transcript or enrollment certificate
   • academic email already linked to the account

Only GitHub Education support can clear this backend state. Community workarounds cannot.
