Hi @engabd11 — thanks, and you're spot on. 🎯 You've actually understated it: a "lost" bet currently costs nothing. A round that scores 0 already breaks your streak and already banks 0 points — so betting is pure free upside, and every rational player should just always bet. It's "double or same", not "double or nothing". That's getting fixed. The plan: a bet will win only on the exact year (→ 3× points), and a bet that isn't exact scores 0 for the round — you forfeit the points a close guess would otherwise have earned. So betting becomes a real confidence gamble: only bet when you're sure you nailed it. Tracked in #1004. Thanks for flagging it! |

Shipped — the betting rebalance from #1004 landed in the v3.4.0 line. A bet now wins only on the exact year (3× points) and a non-exact bet scores 0 for the round, forfeiting whatever a close guess would have earned. So betting is finally a real confidence gamble instead of free upside. Update via HACS to v3.4.1 (current stable) to get it. Closing as resolved — thanks for the sharp catch, @engabd11! 🎯 |

Betting should make players lose points if the year isn't exactly right. I noticed it only stops the streak, so there's no reason for players not to abuse doubling their guesses.
Awesome game, thanks!
