Development

Prerequisites

  • Erlang/Elixir
  • Node.js

Env variables

  • HOSTNAME
  • ASSET_HOST
  • PORT
  • MIX_ENV
  • DB_NAME
  • DB_USER
  • DB_PASSWORD
  • DB_HOST
  • ADMIN_USER
  • ADMIN_PASSWORD
  • AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID
  • AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY

Steps

  1. Create database corresponding to your DATABASE_URL. I use ecto://short_stuff_dev:postgres@db/short_stuff_dev locally.
  2. Install dependencies with mix deps.get
  3. Create and migrate your database with mix ecto.setup
  4. Install Node.js dependencies with npm install inside the assets directory
  5. Start Phoenix endpoint with mix phx.server

Now you can visit localhost:4000 from your browser.

Production-like environment

  1. docker-compose up --build
