IoT as a target - take over where DeviceScript left?

When the docs state "it runs everywhere" I couldn't find ESP32 (as example) as potential target and I'd love to explore the idea of having Perry capable/able to also run in those machines, 'cause DeviceScript has been abandoned and it's weird there's no TS running on IoT devices (there is Espruino and other variants, mostly JS + no UI capabilities).

The UI

If we could have Perry UI targeting LVGL too that'd be awesome:

• develop on the Web (or natively)
• flush device with screens and LVGL capability
• profit!

The Limitations

I believe most things should "just work", simply because I've developed PyScript (Python and MicroPython on the Web) and run a lot of software in MicroPython that came directly from JS expectations:

• async / await is there
• plethora of C available modules that could be linked with relative ease (accordingly to the other discussion)
• network, BLE, WiFi that could work out of native Web APIs ported in there (or even NodeJS, who cares as long as the Web can still be a target)

@WebReflection Thanks for bringing this up, this is actually a great use-case for perry.

I'd be more than happy to facilitate this, I am just not personally very involved with IoT.

Would you be willing to test this when we roll this out and do you have some use-cases for it?

Asking because I have limited bandwith, so I can provide the "technically this should work" state of things but testing it is a whole different ball game.

happy to test whenever I can, I have limited capability too otherwise I'd propose already something instead of just discussing it, but I have tons of hardware to play around with
