MultiChat Installation

MultiChat is designed to work as soon as you start up your server. It is as simple as dropping the jar into your plugins folders, but here is a list to make sure your installation goes smoothly!

  1. Firstly, download the latest version of MultiChat from the Spigot website: CLICK HERE

  2. Once downloaded, place the jar file in your PROXY (Bungeecord/Waterfall) plugins folder. This is the folder called "plugins" that is in the same directory as your 'Bungeecord.jar' or 'Waterfall.jar' file.

  3. To unlock all the features MultiChat has on offer, you should also place the downloaded jar file into your Spigot, Bukkit, Paper or Sponge plugins folders. This is the folder called "plugins" in the same directory as your 'Spigot.jar', 'CraftBukkit.jar', 'SpongeForge.jar', 'SpongeVanilla.jar' or 'PaperClip.jar' file depending on what software you use. Installing MultiChat on your individual local servers allows the plugin to fetch information such as prefixes, nicknames etc. It also allows MultiChat to execute commands triggered by chat rules or anti-spam activating.

  4. If you wish for MultiChat to get the prefixes and suffixes from your local servers*, then you need to make sure you have Vault installed. (*If you use Sponge, this step is not required) Using Vault allows MultiChat to fetch prefixes/suffixes from LuckPerms, GroupManager, PEX and many more Spigot plugins.

  5. Start up (or re-start) your Bungeecord/Waterfall server and any Spigot/Bukkit/Paper/Sponge servers that you placed the JAR into. (DO NOT USE /RELOAD OR /GRELOAD)

  6. You should see a message in the start-up log indicating MultiChat has been loaded on Bungeecord/Waterfall, and that MultiChatBridge has been loaded on Spigot/Bukkit/Paper/Sponge.

  7. You're done! MultiChat is now installed on your servers and it is time to start configuring it...
