Sure, improvements are welcome! I think the features you have in mind would be good to have. Btw, what do you mean by color palette for maps? |

Like for charts, being able to choose the colors to use on the map would be good eg. http://colorbrewer2.org/. Having a list of colors would be a good start maybe reusing what is already done for charts. I also have requirements to have different background areas and will look on how to make it more configurable and not provide only World, USA, EU. |

In some cases, it may be relevant to provide the capability to have log axis for better readability.
